This extension does not collect, transmit, track, or sell any personal information. Your watchlists, stock symbols, color flags, and trade notes are stored exclusively on your own computer. The extension contacts external websites (Chartink and TradingView) only when you explicitly trigger an action.

1. Who This Applies To

This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome browser extension “Unlimited Watchlists for TradingView” (the “Extension”) handles information. The Extension is developed and maintained by individual developer Alen Sarang Satheesh (the “Developer”).

2. Zero Personal Information Collected

The Extension does not collect or process any personally identifiable information (PII). It does not require an account, username, password, email address, or credit card. It contains zero analytics SDKs, zero advertising trackers, and zero device fingerprinting scripts.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The Extension saves data locally inside your browser using Chrome’s native chrome.storage.local API:

  • Watchlists & Symbols: Names of your watchlists and the ticker symbols you add or import.
  • Color Tags & Trade Notes: Color dots (Green, Blue, Gold, Purple, Red, Cyan) and custom notes you assign to symbols.
  • Preferences: Theme choice (Dark/Light), default market exchange (NSE, BSE, NASDAQ, etc.), and floating button position on TradingView chart pages.

This data never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to the Developer or any external server. You have 100% full ownership of your data, with a built-in "Backup All Data" button in Settings to export or delete your data at any time.

4. Network Requests

The Extension initiates network communication only in direct response to user actions:

  • Chartink (chartink.com): When you click "Import to Watchlist" or the circular "Re-Sync" icon, the Extension queries Chartink to parse the ticker symbols returned by your screener. Your private watchlists are never transmitted to Chartink.
  • TradingView (tradingview.com): When you click a ticker symbol or press Space, the Extension updates the TradingView chart to display that symbol. No watchlist data or history is transmitted to TradingView servers.

The Extension communicates with zero developer-owned servers. There are no backend telemetry servers or logging endpoints.

5. Browser Permissions & Rationale

  • storage — To securely save watchlists, notes, and settings locally on your machine.
  • sidePanel — To display the high-contrast watchlist companion in Chrome’s native side panel.
  • tabs — To detect TradingView chart tabs and instantly switch symbols.
  • Host access to tradingview.com — To inject the floating "+ Add" button and dedicated right-toolbar watchlist icon.
  • Host access to chartink.com — To inject the "Import to Watchlist" button and read screener results.
